Assessor to use owm judgement 2 Years ago  
In the draft assessment instruments I have occassionaly included the phrase "Assessor to Use Own Judgement'. This has usually been done where it is not possible to list every possible answer e.g. identification of hazards and controls. SafeWork Australia has advised that this is not acceptable. I believe that there are some questions that do not have an immediate list of black-and-white answers and that the a qualified assessor who is a subject matter expert must be allowed at time to use their own judgement when making assessment decisions.

Ted Woods (SafeWork Australia) advises that there is a clause in the Instructions to Assessors that does allow for this contingency. Accordingly I have removed this phrase from the Assessment Instruments wherever it occured.
